Native New York City artist ErinKelli Kilbane blends the boundaries between real and surreal in larger than life paintings. Her use of bold brushwork and vibrant colors breathe life into dream-like imagery. ErinKelli pulls from her experiences navigating through life; she considers her pieces visual representations of interactions and conversations. Most known for her delicately hand painted street art pieces, Kilbane has been using art as a tool to engage with the community since 2013. The work profoundly speaks to the public, allowing viewers to use her work as a perspectival conduit. She has led/participated in borough beautification initiatives and planned events with organizations including the Cultural Affairs Department, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Education, The NY Public Library, The Staten Island Foundation, Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden, The Staten Island Museum, MakerSpace, Projectivity, Sundog Theater, Hub17 and the Pride Center of Staten Island. Currently an educator in New York City’s Public School system, Kilbane is dedicated to inspiring activism in youth through the process of making and teaching socially-engaged visual art.

ErinKelli organizes shows and events that often incorporates large mural installations, costumes, and interactive exhibits that involve the community. She also frequently displays her work in NYC and its neighboring boroughs. Recently, her mural of a heart with branches growing out of it, was named in the top ten street art pieces of 2015 by untappedcities.com. Through her work she hopes to establish connections that relate messages to initiate reactions and engage all viewers.
